Post every county payment online, every month, as searchable data

To: the Loving County Commissioners Court (County Judge + 4 Precinct Commissioners)

Every check Loving County writes is already a public record — but to see one, you have to file a request and wait. A monthly check register online (who was paid, how much, for what, from which fund) lets anyone follow the money without asking permission. Many counties and cities already do this. It costs little, because the county already keeps these records.

When it reaches the goal it’s handed to the officials named above at a public meeting, and their answer is posted online. This is a petition to your elected officials — like the clipboard at the courthouse door. It does not put anything on the ballot; that takes the state’s official petition process. Names are never shown publicly. County Commons — an independent, nonpartisan public-records project.
